SC Results Announced

The following is the results of the recent Student Elections, announced at today's assembly.

President: Adam
Vice President (Male): Shazli
Vice President (Female): Kauthar
Treasurer: Don
Secretary: Imran
Academic Excos: Hazwan Ariff and 'Aqilah
Sport's Excos: Zul and Snoopy
Food Excos: Arvindd and Farhana
Welfare Excos: Naili and Azrieal
Religious Excos: Badrul Hisyam and Faezah

Shocking? Veritas doesn't think so. Look's like the new batch's SC is a classic example of how it pays to be connected to the 'higher powers' of the college. It's saddening how many didn't turn up for the 2 Manifesto Nights, however- a sign that either bangsawan was just too much stress, or that, sadly, people in college just don't care about manifestos- that they've decided who they were going to vote for from the start. Popularity wins? We'd say so, yeah. But is that entirely a bad thing? We leave that for the public to decide.

One thing's for sure is that there will be a major change in terms of how the new SC runs things compared to the now-retired 7th Batch SC. No two SCs are the same, we are often reminded. Personally, I would like to say that we in Veritas, and possibly a lot more people are going to miss Hizami, Abby and the gang. They could do no wrong in our eyes. Adam and the gang are going to have a lot to live up to. Veritas wishes them good luck for that.

Veritas also looks forward to the Student Dinner (which, if we're lucky may be renamed Kenduri Tambatan Ukhwah), which will be one of the new SCs main proving grounds. We're sure you can pull it off marvelously. And for that, we wish you boys and girls the best of luck!

In the meantime, however? What went wrong for the other contestants? Like Amir, our beloved CP director, or Nat, whose speech was arguably the best speech of all throughout both manifesto nights? What about Aqtar, who, (despite his vicious assault on Veritas) provided the words and charisma that Adam had to use a video for? Would things have gone better for them if more people had turned out at their manifesto nights?

That's one of the things that we'll never know.

But what's done is done, and the best that we can do now is to stand behind and support the new SC all the way. We put them there, anyway. Meaning that these people are the best that our batch has to offer.

Every individual in the committee, from Adam to Faezah, from 'Aqilah to Kauthar, they each have their own unique and colorful aspects, which we believe will bring life and color to the SC.

Again, Veritas would like to congratulate Hizami and co. for a job (or well, numerous jobs) well done throughout their time at the helm of the ship that we call our college. We're not blind. We've seen the things you've done. We've seen the sacrifices you've had to make. And though we may not come up to you to thank you people as often as we should, just remember that we do appreciate your efforts, and we always will.
